Safety Guidlines For Volunteering With Us Family-Friendly and Safe Browsing Notice Kindness Unfolded is committed to maintaining a family-friendly website environment. We actively monitor our site to help keep harmful content out and provide a safe space for everyone. However, we encourage parents and guardians to participate alongside their children while using our site. If you ever come across anything harmful or concerning, please report it immediately through our Support and Feedback page. Please note that Kindness Unfolded cannot guarantee the safety of links shared by other volunteers. Use caution when clicking on links that are not published directly on our website. To help you identify official links, all our links will appear in blue, be underlined, and usually bolded, leading only to Google Forms or Google Docs. Thank you for helping us keep Kindness Unfolded a safe and welcoming community! Profile Picture Please choose a headshot (picture of your face), nature scene, art/symbol/image, animal, or cartoon. Please do not include pictures of famous people, flags (in the context of political statements), or sexually suggestive pics. You (or your avatar if you choose to do a cartoon) must be fully clothed in the picture. The goal of the picture is to express warmth, compassion, and kindness. Profile Bio Please share a little about yourself. Do not link to other social media accounts or share any of your personal contact information. Do not include any graphic or inappropriate language. Your bio should be professional and approachable. We reccommend that you do not give out your full name or the city you live in. Profile Username Avoid using graphic or inappropriate language in your username. Any username that contains graphic or inappropriate language will be flagged. Keep it light hearted and fun. With some actions, you may get a warning first. Others, you will be banned. Always be mindful of what you're saying and how you're interacting with others. In the Forums and Chats We are a community that is open to learning and growing. We welcome constructive feedback and we celebrate the positive feedback. Please be mindful when giving feedback though, sometimes it can come across as hurtful instead of helpful. Think about how it would make you feel if someone said it to you before you send the message. Also, think about if it should be sent privately (in another room) instead of publicly (in the general chat with all the volunteers). If you are unable to talk to the person privately, you can always message a moderator, or send a general message in that chat room that doesn't call out anyone specific. To offer helpful constructive feedback please follow this model: 1. Identify the problem or concern. 2. Write it out. Think about if it is truly a problem or concern. Should you say something, or leave it be? Will it be okay if it is left? 3. Ensure you're not framing any personal opinions as facts. Everyone has different views and opinions. Those views may not align with ours, and that's okay. We're not here to debate who is right or who is wrong. It should be a supportive environment for everyone. 4. Ask what the emotions that I'm evoking with this feedback. Can what I'm saying come across as passive aggressive? 5. Ask yourself – how would I feel if someone wrote this to me? If you would feel bad, annoyed, or sad, don't say it to them. 6. If you feel good about it, then say it. If you don't feel good about it, then revise it so that you would feel good about it. A simple way to ensure that your posts/chats are in line with our guidelines: What kind of impact is this going to have on the community? Is it neutral, positive, helpful, or does it build people up? Does it create health or compassion? Is this beneficial to others?
- Kindness Retreat | Kindness Unfolded

Just begin here. 💡 Use These Mini Retreats When... You feel emotionally drained or overstimulated You’ve just written a card that stirred up feelings You need to refill your own cup before helping others You simply want to feel grounded and seen Journal Heres a journal where you can log your mood, write a goal for the day, and a daily affirmation. Please click Here. 5 Minute Reading Prompts 🌬️ Prompt 1: Grounding in the Present Welcome. Let’s begin by arriving fully in this moment. Take a slow breath in through your nose… and a long breath out through your mouth. Again… in… and out. Let your eyes soften. Let your shoulders lower just a bit. Now, bring your attention to your feet. Notice where they rest — on the floor, against your chair, beneath you. Feel gravity holding you here. Nothing to do. Nowhere to go. Breathe in. Breathe out. Now, notice the air around your skin. Cool or warm… still or moving… Just notice. You don’t need to change anything — you’re just observing. Let your next breath in be an invitation to presence. Let your next breath out be a gentle release of distraction. You are here. You are safe. This moment is enough. Repeat that to yourself slowly: “This moment is enough.” Feel what shifts. Stay with your breath. For the next minute, breathe quietly and gently — in and out. (Pause) Now begin to slowly deepen your next breath… Wiggle your fingers or toes… And when you’re ready, return to your day — grounded, steady, and still carrying peace. 🫧 Prompt 2: Releasing Tension Welcome. This is your space to let go — even if just a little. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Let your hands rest gently. Let your jaw unclench. Now breathe in deeply… let your shoulders rise. Breathe out slowly… let them drop. Again… in… rise… And out… fall. Now scan your body from top to bottom. Forehead… eyes… jaw… throat… Soften each place as you pass through. Keep breathing — gently, easily. Feel your chest expand… and release. No need to force anything. Let your breath lead. Now imagine, with every exhale, you are letting something go. Something small. Something you don’t need to carry right now. An expectation… a worry… even just a sigh. Let it out. And again. Inhale… Exhale… and release. Breathe into your back. Into your heart. Give yourself this gift of lightening the load. Stay here for another minute — breathing in calm, breathing out tension. (Pause) As we close, gently roll your shoulders back. Lift your head. You’ve done something kind for yourself today. 💛 Prompt 3: Restoring Kindness to Yourself Take a moment… to come home to your body. Let your next inhale be slow… And let your exhale whisper gently through your mouth. As you breathe, begin repeating these quiet words in your mind: “I deserve care too.” Say it like you mean it. Say it like it matters. Again: “I deserve care too.” Now let your breath begin to soften your chest. Breathe in kindness… Breathe out all the ways you’ve been too hard on yourself. You do so much. You give so much. Let this be your time to receive — even if it’s just your own breath. Say again: “Kindness includes me.” Now, place your hand on your heart or stomach. Notice the rise and fall. Let this be your rhythm of restoration. Continue breathing. Continue receiving. For the next minute, stay in stillness and softness. (Pause) Before you go, offer yourself one final kindness: Think of one thing you love about yourself — big or small. Say it to yourself, like a friend would say it to you. You are worthy of your own care. 🕊️ Prompt 4: A Moment of Stillness (~5 minutes) Let this be your pause. Find a comfortable position and gently close your eyes if you’d like. Take three deep breaths — in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Slower… slower… Let the tension drop. Let your mind settle. There is nothing to figure out right now. There is nowhere else you need to be. Now… just breathe. For the next few minutes, we’ll say nothing more than this: Inhale — and be. Exhale — and release. That’s it. Repeat this rhythm slowly, over and over: Inhale — and be. Exhale — and release. Let the stillness wrap around you. Let it hold you gently. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to slow down. If your mind wanders — that’s okay. Just come back. Back to the breath. Back to this quiet moment. (Pause for silence) Now… as we close… take one more deep breath. And as you exhale, silently thank yourself for taking this moment. Stillness is strength. You are allowed to carry it with you now.
